Google Workspace for Education (formerly G Suite for Education) is a free, secure suite of Google tools—like Classroom, Docs, Drive, and Meet—that helps students, teachers, and schools collaborate, create, communicate, and manage learning in the cloud.

Features

G Suite for Education provides a safe and easy way to support students both in and outside of the classroom. 

  • Education accounts have unlimited storage capacity in Google Drive, and offer access to all Google tools but with additional safety protocols.
  • Additional sharing settings within the Education domain means safer access to shared files and work.
  • Accounts are accessible from any device, in any location, so long as an internet connection is available.
  • Provides equitable access to the best tools available for collaboration and communication. 
  • Improves efficiency and workflow for collaboration and sharing of learning between students and educators.
  • Access to tools for teachers that help offer differentiation for inclusive classroom learning. 
  • Students can use accessibility features built in G Suite for education. 
    • Examples: voice typing, screen readers, closed captioning features.

How to Access

Students and Educators

  1. Click on Google and then select Sign in, located in the top right corner of your screen. 
  2. Log in with your sd62.bc.ca credentials.

3. Select the 9 dot "waffle" icon in the top right of your screen. When you hover over it, it should read "Google apps". Clicking on the waffle will allow you to choose a Google Suite application to open.
