Description
The EV3 Classroom app is the official programming companion for the LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 system. It enables users to program, control, and test EV3 robots via a visual drag-and-drop interface (based on Scratch) and run code on the EV3 brick via Bluetooth, USB, or other supported connections.
The software provides built-in lesson units and curriculum modules to guide students and teachers through structured robotics/STEM projects.
It is not a stand-alone “learning app” — it is meant to be used with the EV3 hardware (robots built from the EV3 kit).
Features
- Scratch-style Visual Programming: Drag and drop blocks to build logic, sequences, loops, conditions, sensor responses, and motor controls.
- Multi-device / Cross-platform Use: The app works on tablets (iPad, Android) as well as desktop systems (Windows, macOS) giving consistent experience across devices.
- Bluetooth Connectivity: Allows wireless control and programming of robots.
- Integrated Curriculum / Guided Units: The app includes step-by-step lessons and challenges aligned to robotics and STEM concepts, helping structure classroom or self-guided learning.
- Competition-Ready Support: The setup is designed to work with contests like the FIRST LEGO League, giving teams tools to program and test their robots.
